Lab Attire...
Fun fact: I used to have a blog named Lab Attire. It was a cute little site where I wrote essays, posted my favorite songs, and so on. It was certainly nothing groundbreaking. But, it was my own place in this crazy digital world. One day an interesting thing happened; I mistyped the address into the search bar. Up popped a lesbian soft porn website. 🙃 |
I absolutely could not leave without sharing a picture of my newest shoe friend!
I probably don't need to explain my motivation for buying them. Because, duh. They're sparkly. And pretty. And ballerina wrap (which I'm obsessed with). And just a little bit painful. But pretty. And sparkly...

OMG! I can't believe that it's been two weeks since I last blogged. While I was away, I was doing what I absolutely adore...writing! I'm working on the completion of How to Slay and also doing some grant writing for a fancy new mass spectrometer. Swoon!
Much tea/coffee/wine drinking has occurred. Don't you just love the color of the this tea?! I definitely need a lipstick in this color. Speaking of lipsticks...I almost took the plunge to buy the Louboutin lipstick. It is absolutely ridiculous for a lipstick to cost that much because they're made for pennies on the dollar. And, I should know because I make them all the time! But you know how it is! You see shiny, sparkly packaging and a deep, decadent color and you lose your mind. Plus, to be fair, my brain was already scrambled from staring at a computer screen all day. Thankfully, I was saved by a very wise - albeit $90 poorer - YouTube blogger. Meanwhile, on the other hand, my splurge account can continue to prosper! Here are some pics of my favorite reds/pinks. They are an absolute staple and I cannot do without. Side note: Isn't it funny how the lighting is always BOMB in the car?! Mixed Media Alert Disclaimer: I love to mix metals. Silver, rose gold, platinum, bronze, copper, gold. Whatever. It's all good! I'm a little like a chicken; if it's sparkly, it's a go!
I've been a little obsessed with mules recently. Yesterday, I found the most amazing pair of silver mules at Nordstrom Rack and I snapped them up immediately. As a matter of fact, I'm fairly certain that I bumped into a lady in the process of grabbing them. Ma'am, if you're reading this, I apologize. On my behalf, though, she was contemplating a pair of very ugly comfort shoes. they were a wedge kitten heel, which shouldn't even be a thing. Basically, she had it coming. I digress. As I do, as soon as I buy something, I wear it immediately. I threw them on with destroyed jeans, an on-trend ruffle top, and my rockstud tote. The top and the tote were pink, of course. Despite wearing silver mules, I wore gold&silver statement earrings, and a gold heritage bangle from Bendel's . Swoon. Something has clicked in my brain and all of a sudden I'm obsessed with small leather goods! Ironically, the small leather goods that I'm interested in are big expensive. My latest addition is the Furla Allegra coin purse/keychain. As far as key holders go, it's fairly minimal, which is okay by me. I've seen the LV ones and the card holder/key fob combos but, they're a little heavier than I'd like them to be. Plus, I never understand the point of the key holders that snap to close, mainly because I don't think that I'd ever take the time to close them. Basically, I just want a key accessory. I've seen the furry puffs; I'm fairly certain that they'd upset my allergies. Or my cat would take a liking to it. Either way, it's not my thing. I really like the Fendi key creature but I'm not insane enough to spend that much money for a key pal. I found the bear coin purse while perusing the Saks' Friends and Family sale and was pleasantly surprised. It's super girly. It's lightweight. And, it's pink, which is an added bonus. But, let's be honest, it holds absolutely nothing aside for a few Chinese cookie fortunes. To be fair, it could accommodate a few coins and a couple balled up ones. But, I never have cash, so there's that. Anyway, she's cute and keeps my keys company. Welcome her to the fold. Easter is my absolute favorite holiday for three reasons: I love Jesus. I love pink. Jellybeans rock my world. There's really not much else to say. This Easter, I kept my decorations on the sparse side. Instead of cute and kitschy bunny decorations, I put a few strategically placed flower arrangements around my home. I didn't even bother to arrange them myself because Trader Joe's does a much better job for much less effort. Besides, I reserved my energy for much more important things, and by better things I mean eating chocolate and drinking delicious wine.
